Arsenal v Villa: Lambert - In-form N'Zogbia is playing with freedom
N'Zogbia goes into today's clash at Arsenal in the best form of his Villa career after playing starring roles in the draws against West Brom and Everton, as well as his match-winning display in the victory over West Ham.
Lambert reckons giving the former Newcastle and Wigan winger license to express himself has been a key factor.
"These type of players will try things that a lot of other players won't try. You've got to realise that at least the lad is trying to make things happen," said Lambert.
"You never criticise anybody for at least trying to make things happen.
"He's just enjoying his football. He's playing really well and looks a threat.
"I have said it before, he's definitely got ability.
"At this moment in time he is doing very well.
"In the offensive role he is there to make things happen. He will go and try things that other people wouldn't try.
"That's the beauty about him. He will try and make things happen which will certainly help."
As well as being Villa's main creator, Lambert believes N'Zogbia is capable of contributing goals.
The manager says it is important that likes of N'Zogbia, Andreas Weimann and Gabby Agbonlahor share the load with top scorer Christian Benteke.
"Andi has done it, Gabby has done it, Charles obviously got a cracking goal against West Ham and Christian seems to keep scoring.
"If you can spread it around then it will be beneficial."
