Arsenal v Villa: Lambert - Break has done us "the world of good"

Brown

Manager Paul Lambert says the two-week break has done Villa "the world of good" as they now fix their eyes on finishing the season in style.

Following a hectic schedule, Villa had a fortnight with no game.

Lambert says he used that to allow his players to relax and refocus.

Lambert worked the players hard in the week following the wonderful West Ham win before giving them the weekend off to recharge their batteries.

They returned to training at the start of this week as they now prepare to face Arsenal at The Emirates.

He said: "Because we beat West Ham, it's been good.

"We have worked with the lads and it's been good.

"The break has done us the world of good. It gets people refreshed, there's time to enjoy the win and now the next game is on.

"They have worked hard. Last week was one week where we thought we could work them harder.

"We gave them a hard week and then a bit of free time before bringing them back on Monday.

"They have trained really well. We have done a lot of analysing and looking at things too."

Lambert will welcome back Gabby Agbonlahor and Karim El Ahmadi at Arsenal.

Charles N'Zogbia, who came off against West Ham with a thigh problem, is also fit to face the Gunners.
