Coventry Ladies 0-3 Villa Ladies report: Stringer/Davies on target
Villa progress to the quarter-finals of the League Cup and now face either Wolves or Blackburn.
Villa Ladies took the lead on 14 minutes, Cusack feeding Stringer who produced a delightful lob over goalkeeper Sue Wood and into the net.
They doubled their advantage just before the break, with a swift counter-attack following great defensive work by Dani Petrovic and Jade Richards.
Cusack fed Davies who broke away from the backline before bending an unstoppable shot from 20 yards round Wood and into the bottom corner.
Villa Ladies wrapped up the game just after half-time, Davies finishing smartly with her seventh goal of the season so far.
Hunt's confident outfit managed to hit the post and had two efforts cleared off the line soon after but the game was already over as a contest.
Hunt said: "The players were outstanding. Full credit to them.
"We have stumbled over the line in the last two games, winning but not playing well.
"But in this one we dominated all the key areas. Our defenders were powerful, our midfielders committed and the front three were a constant threat. Our variation of play was outstanding too.
"Carly and Abbeyleigh will get the headlines because of the goals they scored but the contribution of others was massive too.
"Emma was electrifying again. She really is in fine form at the moment.
"Maddy was again fantastic. She is playing a slightly different role from the left of midfield but this doesn't stop her. She had two assists and played a big part in the other too.
"She was targeted with some pretty bad tackles early in the game which resulted in her getting a split lip but it didn't slow her down.
"She gets knocked down but then gets straight back up! But she's not afraid of a tackle either!"
VILLA LADIES: Courtney, Vaughan, Lowe, Merritt, Petrovic, Richards, Follis, Stringer (Crackle 75), Davies (Gibson 85), Moran, Cusack. Subs not used: Cooper, Jones.
