Vacancies at Villa: Role of Online Retail Manager
![]() TITLE Online Retail Manager, Aston Villa Direct REPORT TO Head of Merchandising LOCATION Merchandising Deparment, Villa Park KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the day-to-day running of Aston Villa Direct Work with the in-house merchandise buyer to select products relevant for an online audience Work with the merchandise and marketing team to organise lifestyle and product photography Upload and categorize all products through the online store content management system Work with the merchandise and marketing team to build an annual sales promotion calendar, with clearly defined individual campaigns i.e. kit launch, back to school, Christmas, Valentines etc Work with the merchandise and marketing team to increase site traffic and conversion through social media, SEO, PPC, affiliate marketing and remarketing Work with in-house technical lead and external agency on functionality development or change requests Generate online store analysis (click patterns, site traffic and conversion rates) and sales reports for senior management Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which your manager asks you to perform To be aware of our Brand Values (Heritage, Integrity, Togetherness, Openness, and Commitment) and ensure that your actions and behaviour are consistent with and champion those values at all times To embrace diversity throughout the club and ensure that your behaviour demonstrates that commitment at all times by encouraging diversity and facilitating equality of opportunity in accordance with the club's equality and diversity policy in force from time to time To be aware of our company policies and procedures which may be updated from time to time; to ensure that your actions and behaviour are consistent with and champion the requirements of those policies and procedures at all times To ensure that you have seen and are familiar with the contents of the staff handbook STANDARDS/MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE Ability to generate year on year improvements in site traffic and conversion Ability to generate new ideas and functionality which deliver an increase in site traffic, conversion and/or sales for a specific campaign Ability to be well organized, work under pressure and to tight deadlines Ability to communicate effectively with in-house departments and external agencies Examples of behaviour which demonstrate that you champion each of the club's values Examples of behaviour which demonstrate that you encourage diversity facilitate equality of opportunity and work in accordance with the club's equality and diversity policy in force from time to time QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential 2+ years experience of working in a similar position where candidate can demonstrate sales success Prior experience of using a content management system (CMS) to upload content i.e. images and copy Prior experience of campaign management and sales promotion Prior experience of working with external agencies or internal marketing departments to increase site traffic through SEO, PPC, email marketing, affiliate marketing, social media, ecommerce remarketing Experience of building and sharing traffic, conversion and sales reports Preferred Able to demonstrate, through a previous role, usage of analytics to improve site performance Prior experience of syndicating online store products through the market place (Amazon, eBay, Play Trade) TRAINING, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Preferred Technical knowledge is an advantage as this role will involve liaising with technical agencies on a day-to-day basis (change requests, functionality development) PERSONAL QUALITIES Well organized HOW TO APPLY Please send your CV and covering letter to jobs@avfc.co.uk with the subject title 'Online Retail Manager.' |
