Yacouba Sylla checked in to Bodymoor Heath after completing his move from Clermont Foot - and club photographer Neville Williams was on the scene to follow the new signing on his first day.

After putting pen to paper on a deal to join Villa from the Ligue 2 side, Sylla took a tour of his new club's training HQ before posing for photographs.

As well as donning the famous claret and blue jersey for the first time, the 22-year-old also gave a glimpse of his skills with a bit of ball-juggling for the cameras.

When the photo-shoot was over, it was time to face the AVTV cameras where he expressed his delight at joining Villa as well as his hopes for the future.

The defensive midfielder answered questions from presenter Jack Woodward with the help of the club's player liaison and welfare office Lorna McClelland.

Sylla became Villa's ninth signing of the 2012-13 campaign, following on from summer arrivals Brett Holman, Karim El Ahmadi, Matt Lowton, Ron Vlaar, Jordan Bowery, Ashley Westwood, Joe Bennett and Christian Benteke.
