Agbonlahor: Moving out of the bottom three a "big positive"

Brown

Gabby Agbonlahor admits the frustrating finale at The Hawthorns was "heartbreaking" - but he says moving out of the bottom three was a big positive.

Agbonlahor was delighted with the first-half performance, which saw Villa score twice against West Brom as well as creating several other good chances.

But the goalscoring striker was deeply disappointed with the comeback of the Baggies after the break.

Agbonlahor admits, however, that getting out of the danger zone was a cause for contentment.

He said: "We were disappointed. Deep down everyone is disappointed.

"You go away from home and score two goals anywhere, you expect to win the game.

"I think we've only got ourselves to blame.

"It was heartbreaking for the whole team, in the way we played and the chances we created. We should have scored more.

"But coming here and getting a draw? West Brom are a good team.

"To get out of the bottom three is a big thing. You look at the league table and we're out of the bottom three which is a positive. We will take the positives and look forward to the Bradford game now."

Agbonlahor was delighted to get on the scoresheet against Albion - but was quick to praise Charles N'Zogbia for his involvement in setting up the chance.

The star forward was also impressed with the fluency of the whole team in that opening 45 minutes.

He added: "Christian scored the first but he does that every day in training. He has that in his locker.

"I was then happy to get on the scoresheet but full credit to Charles. He showed great vision to put it through to me.

"But I thought we looked good all-round in the first-half. The whole team played well. We looked good which was promising. Hopefully we can take that form into Bradford."
