Agbonlahor: Our fans can see us through in second leg
Gabby Agbonlahor is still confident Villa can "get the job done" against Bradford - despite the frustrating 3-1 loss in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final at Valley Parade.
And one of the main reasons for his optimism is the gargantuan levels of support the team will receive from the claret and blue army in that second leg at Villa Park.
He expects a tough challenge against a spirited and slick outfit from League Two, especially with them being two goals up in the tie.
But Agbonlahor thinks the fans can make all the difference on an enthralling evening in B6.
He said: "We all knew it was going to be tough coming to Bradford. It was a big occasion.
"But we're disappointed because we missed a lot of chances. On another day they would have gone in.
"But full credit to Bradford, they had a plan and it paid off for them.
"We're disappointed with the goals we conceded too.
"But it's over two legs. We know we've got work to do but we're relishing the challenge. We look to the second leg to put it right.
"We're hurting in the dressing room, definitely. But it's only half-time. We will go out sharp and looking to get the job done.
"The atmosphere will be brilliant for the return leg. Our fans will make sure we get the job done. Hopefully we can pull it off.
"Look at the Blackburn game a few years back in the same competition. The fans got us through that game. Hopefully they can do the same in the second leg."
Agbonlahor paid tribute to Matt Dukes, Bradford's in-form keeper, who kept the Bantams well in the game when under-pressure early on.
He added: "In another game it's a hat-trick for Christian.
"Hats-off to their keeper, he made some really good saves.
"But we'll put this behind us now and try and get things right."
Make sure you're there to back the lads against Southampton.
