Swansea v Villa: Holman - Let's not forget our pre-Christmas exploits
Brett Holman has urged Villa not to forget their pre-Christmas form as they look to halt a three-match losing streak against Swansea.
Holman admits the players are hurting after crushing defeats to Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Wigan.
The recent slip-ups have signalled a bizarre change in fortunes for Paul Lambert's team, who began December with draws against QPR and Stoke followed by stunning wins over Norwich and Liverpool.
But, ahead of the New Year's Day trip to the Liberty Stadium, Holman has called on his team-mates not to lose sight of what they achieved before the dismal set of festive results.
"We have had some really heavy defeats now," said the Aussie midfielder.
"We are trying to work on things, like not conceding goals and keeping the ball in training. But we are in a dip.
"The good thing is we are in the Christmas period and the games are coming thick and fast.
"The dressing room is still very ambitious and we remember how we played before and that can't just fade away."
Holman admits plenty of lessons have been learned from the difficulties of the past nine days.
He insists the squad are doing everything possible to find a solution.
"The players pretty much speak their mind in the dressing room," he added.
"I've had some heavy defeats in Holland and you learn from those things.
"You try to pass on what you have learnt yourself.
"If we could put our finger on why it is happened, we would have done something about it."
