Villa v Tottenham: Bannan - Time to show our powers of recovery
Barry Bannan has promised Villa will come out "all guns blazing" against Tottenham - as they look to banish memories of their Chelsea nightmare.
Bannan admits the boys in claret and blue owe the supporters a performance after the crushing defeat at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
But the Scottish midfielder insists the team will do everything they can to bounce back in the upcoming festive fixtures.
"We've got to look at ourselves and pick ourselves up for the upcoming games," he said.
"We'll start by talking over the Chelsea performance, watching videos and trying to improve on where we went wrong.
"Everyone was down, as we should be, and we hurt the fans too by performing like that.
"But hopefully we'll get that out of the way and come out again all guns blazing against Spurs.
"We'll look forward to the Spurs game and hopefully we can look forward and get a victory."
Bannan was brutally honest in his assessment of the Chelsea display, admitting Villa didn't help themselves by giving the European champions a head start.
"We didn't help ourselves by getting off to the start that we got off to," he added.
"It is always going to be tough away from home but you've got to try your best and keep a team like Chelsea quiet and we didn't do that.
"It just capitulated from there. Brad Guzan made some great saves. It finished 8-0 and could have been more."
