Villa v Stoke team news: Lambert sticks with same line-up

Paul Lambert has named an unchanged starting line-up for today's Barclays Premier League game against Stoke City.

The Villa boss has opted to stick with the same eleven that earned a 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers last weekend.

The boys in claret and blue also go into the game with the same personnel on the bench.

It means Chris Herd keeps his place after a solid display at Loftus Road, while Eric Lichaj continues in the left-back spot.

Stoke have made one change from their 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Match-winner Dean Whitehead replaces the suspended Charlie Adam in midfield.

Former Villa striker Peter Crouch takes his place on the bench for the Potters after having mouth guard fitted.

VILLA: Guzan, Lowton, Baker, Clark, Lichaj, Holman, Westwood, Bannan, Herd, Agbonlahor (c), Benteke. Subs: Given, Ireland, El Ahmadi, Weimann, Williams, Delph, Bent.

STOKE: Begovic, Cameron, Huth, Shawcross, Shotton, Whelan, Nzonzi, Etherington, Whitehead, Jones, Walters. Subs: Sorensen, Palacios, Upson, Kightly, Crouch, Wilkinson, Jerome.
