Villa v Stoke pre-match show: News & Record production in focus

Villa's pre-match show this week is brought to you from a host of locations - most notably the matchday programme printers.

Editor Rob Bishop talks us through how the Villa News & Record is compiled and how it's put together in the final stages at the printing press.

He discusses how the programme has changed over the years, Villa's impressive reputation in the field across all Barclays Premier League clubs and he also gives us a sneak peak at the front cover of the Stoke edition.

In terms of player involvement, the show includes an in-depth interview with Brad Guzan.

He reflects on the point at QPR and looks forward to what should be a pugnacious encounter with the Potters on Saturday.

He tells us about the work he does on the training field alongside coach Terry Gennoe and discusses his senior statesman role in the squad.

Barry Bannan also joins us from Bodymoor Heath.

He talks about young defender Derrick Williams who made his debut at Loftus Road.

He speaks of his delight at seeing the latest young player follow in his footsteps through the ranks into the first team.

Bannan also previews the Stoke match and says they shouldn't be viewed as purely a physical side.

He insists they have real quality in their ranks, including Glenn Whelan and Charlie Adam.

Brett Holman says he's relishing the Stoke clash and says it will be interesting.

He talks up the importance of the crowd, saying the claret and blue faithful have been incredible so far this season.

Derrick Williams also joins us and says he's hoping for more senior action after the delight of his debut at QPR.

We close with some goals scored against Stoke, including strikes from John Carew, Stiliyan Petrov and Martin Laursen.
