Umit Eminoglu's late penalty ensured Villa rounded off the first phase of the Barclays U18 Premier League with a draw.

The Turkish forward scored from the spot in the final minute of the game, although the point was not enough to lift Villa up to fifth place in Group 2.

Newcastle dominated the early exchanges and almost took the lead through Ton Heardman's header.

But in the 25th minute, the Magpies got the breakthrough when another Heardman effort deflected into the net off Brad Lewis.

The lively Heardman spurned another effort after latching onto Adam Armstrong's cross but he fired against the post.

Villa punished the visitors for their missed opportunities with a late leveller.

Danny Crowley was brought down in the box and Eminoglu stepped up to fire home from 12 yards.
