Villa Noise: Star Vlaar, Guzan double, HD Eric and Savage Holman

Ron Vlaar
told us the other week he had no plans to become an action movie star after being tipped for a future role by Hollywood actor Bob Stephenson.

It appears Ron has changed his mind, if his Twitter conversation with the star of Seven, Fight Club and Con Air is anything to go by.

See below.

Expect initial trailers of 'Concrete Ron - Vlaar on the warpath' to be out there on the web in 2022.

I think Villa didn't do too bad in the good-humoured feature which appeared in the Daily Mail this week.

Looking ahead to the festive rush for prezzies, the tabloid decided to do a review of the wackiest gifts you can buy from various Premier League clubs.

Ours was 'Villa 1874 Eau de Toilette' which can be picked up in store or online for just £9.

Others were far more offbeat - David Sullivan and David Gold bobbleheads at West Ham, a Man Utd onesie, a Fulham 'Michael Jackson at The Cottage' t-shirt, Newcastle's Whey Aye Man superhero costume [below] and Southampton's pencil sharpener.

Our opponents this weekend, QPR, had teddy bear Spark the Tiger. Let's hope it's more a case of Spark the Lions on Saturday!

Jack Woodward was set the ultimate challenge on Tuesday after the win over Reading.

In his post-match interview with Paul Lambert for AVTV, Woodward suggested that the boss check Christian Benteke's birth certificate, suggesting that the powerful forward is playing well beyond his tender years.

Lambert smiled and said: "You check it for me. You ask him! I'm certainly not going to!"

Brad Guzan got a bit of a shock when he came in from training on Monday this week.

Chris Herd had been rehabbing with the physios when he went to get changed before any of the first team players had come in from their daily workout on the fields of Bodymoor Heath.

It's fair to say the ace shot-stopper was left seeing double, thanks to the mischievous midfielder.

Herd decided to tweet the picture, see below, and Guzan gave a one-word reply: 'HATER!"

Tonight is D-Day for Eric Lichaj as his moustache for Movember finally gets the chop - literally!

Lichaj has been impressing many with his Hulk Hogan meets Tom Selleck meets Burt Reynolds look.

He's certainly hasn't impressed manager Paul Lambert who said in his press conference today that it was "stuck-on and not real."

The lads have gone easy on the USA ace because he's doing it for a good cause - Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, following the diagnosis of skipper Stan Petrov in March.

Despite it being a source of apparent amusement in the dressing room, Lichaj has also been getting rave reviews too!

Check out the tweet below.

When it comes to the subject of body hair, you'll have noticed Brett Holman has had a bit of a trim and we think we know the reason why!

The Aussie ace sported his new-look cut for the game earlier this month against Man City.

In the days leading up to that, several fans on social media sites had compared the all-action midfielder to Robbie Savage, due to both the flowing locks and the busy football style on the pitch.

We asked Brett about the comparisons just before the City match and he said: "I've heard a few people say I remind them of Savage!

"I remember watching a couple of Blackburn games when I followed Brett Emerton and Vince Grella.

"Savage was always running around with his blonde hair so I can understand comparisons being made.

"I have no problem with that."

Judging by the new cut, maybe he has!

Christian Benteke has been the name on everyone's lips these past few weeks, achieving already it seems cult-hero status with the fans.

But manager Paul Lambert was keen to praise the impact of midfielder Ashley Westwood when he was asked about the standout stars in his side at his pre-QPR press conference.

He raved about the central ace's passing skills and hailed his 91% pass rate in the game against Man Utd.

Now Lambert was known in his playing days as a similar sort - a gifted giver of the ball who rarely got people in trouble.

But, as is his usual self-depreciating style, Lambert played down his own skills.

He said: "Did I have a similar percentage rate? I was 91% giving it away! That was my job to give it to someone who was better than me and it wasn't hard because there were 10 of them!"

Today's #VillaFilmFriday has been a big hit on Twitter, with Jim Carrey movies being magnificently Villarised by the claret and blue social media marvels.

Check out a selection below.

Our favourite is definitely Bruce Albrighton!

On the subject of Marc Albrighton, let's hope he does swimmingly if he plays against QPR tomorrow.

Judging by his tweet below, he's relishing life in the deep end at Villa!
