Villa moved out of the bottom three thanks to a late goal from Christian Benteke.

There were plenty of contenders for the man-of-the-match award after Paul Lambert's team collected three points.

Benteke added further wait to his new-found hero status with a brilliant header to give Villa the victory.

Ashley Westwood produced another sparkling midfield performance and it was his corner that set up Benteke.

An inexperienced back four also rose to the occasion to keep another clean sheet.

Nathan Baker was an impressive stand-in for skipper Ron Vlaar while Matt Lowton had a solid game at right-back.
