Villa v Reading: Holman insists that fans can offer team "extra energy"
Brett Holman said it's good fun playing in front of the home faithful as he called for them to give the team "extra energy" against Reading.
Holman was thrilled to jump off the bench to get inside the cauldron of Villa Park in front of the vociferous claret and blue army.
He said he was determined to bring "hunger and energy" to proceedings as he entered the action against Arsenal as a second half sub.
He said that playing in front of the fans was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and stressed the importance of the supporter backing in B6 as the team look for a good result on Tuesday against the Royals.
Holman insisted that the point against the Gunners will give the side confidence ahead of the clash with the newly-promoted side.
He said: "The easy thing for a substitute is to bring hunger and energy and some fresh legs - just to bring something new.
"It was good to play with Christian in there when I came on. We had some good touches between us.
"It was good fun to be out there! The fans give you a rush. They're fantastic.
"You play for the fans and you want to do your best and produce your best.
"I will give it everything every time I play. You want to get your home fans on your side. That's the most important thing. When the fans get behind you, they give you energy.
"They get you going. They give you that extra step.
"It was a hard-fought point against Arsenal. We will take it considering they are a fantastic side.
"I think the positives are that we kept a clean sheet but also created some good chances. We can take those good points into Tuesday.
"I think it's a good sign for us that we weren't happy with a point. We have the confidence to have a good crack at any side, even against the likes of Arsenal."
Make sure you're here to back the lads against Reading.
