Tottenham U18 1-2 Villa U18: Young guns back to winning ways
![]()
It was an excellent team performance from Tony McAndrew's side, coming on the back of consecutive defeats to Sunderland and Manchester United. Umit Eminoglu got Villa off to a perfect start with a goal after nine minutes. Daniel Crowley won possession in the middle of the park for the visitors and switched the ball to Jordan Graham on the right. His cross was met with a diving header at the far post by Eminoglu to put the claret and blues in front. The Turkish striker forced Spurs goalkeeper Luke McGee into two brilliant saves as Villa looked to add to their advantage. They had to wait until the 71st minute for the second goal. It came when Tottenham's Alex McQueen looked to intercept another Graham cross but turned the ball into his own net. The deficit was reduced five minutes from time when Souleymane Coulibaly connected with a free-kick from substitute Harry Winks. But Villa held on for a deserved three points. VILLA: Hill, Williams, Kinsella, Melvin, Bateman, Webb, Graham, Crowley, Eminoglu, Ward, Grealish. Subs: Crooks, Barrett, Nelson, Lyden. Keywords
