Villa Ladies preview: Hunt expecting "professional job" in County Cup
Joe Hunt is looking for a "very professional job" from Villa Ladies as they head into the second round of the Birmingham County Cup.
Villa Ladies face Birmingham and West Midlands Police on Sunday on home soil - KO 2pm - eager to progress to the latter stages of the competition.
They lost in the final last time out, after a 2-1 defeat to Coventry.
Hunt is eager to go one better this time out but knows his up-and-coming team need to be at their best.
He said: "We'll be taking the County Cup very seriously this season.
"The players who were involved last season are still disappointed at losing the final.
"It will be my first involvement in the competition along with about seven or eight players and we're really looking forward to it.
"As we've said all season, if we are involved in a competition we want to do well in it.
"We've been very professional in our preparation and we'll give the police team the respect they deserve.
"I expect my team to continue with the same attitude they have shown over the last six weeks.
"Last weekend at Barnet we did a very professional job. It was a difficult pitch to play on as well as a very committed team to play against!
"I've watched the game back since and was even more impressed with our performance.
"The first half was a test but in the second half we looked a very good team.
"Emma and Clarkey down the side were a constant threat but they were backed up with some exceptional full back play from Vaughny and Aoife.
"The two of them took the pressure off the wingers to defend by stepping high on the Barnet wide players.
"Vaughny and Aoife like to attack as well so it will be interesting who scores the first goal from full back!
"I'm sure Coops and Hayley will have something to say about that as well."
