Wideman Cameron completes loan switch to Rotherham

Courtney Cameron is set for his first taste of senior football after joining Rotherham United on a youth loan until January 5.

Cameron will be looking to help the Millers build on a solid start to their League Two campaign during his temporary stay at the New York Stadium.

The 19-year-old left-sided player has been a consistent performer for Villa in the reserves, U21 and NextGen Series competitions over the past couple of seasons.

Last term he starred in all 23 of the club's Barclays Premier Reserve League fixtures, including the national play-off final against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Cameron also featured in all of Villa's matches in the inaugural NextGen Series, where they reached the quarter-finals before bowing out in extra-time to Marseille.

Villa snapped up Cameron from his hometown club Northampton in summer 2009.

He made a big impression in the academy ranks, operating as a left-sided midfielder and at left-back.

Now the talented youngster is hoping to do the same at Rotherham, who currently sit ninth in League Two.

Steve Evans' team are just a point off the play-offs and have a game in hand over the other teams in the top half of the table.

The Millers are at home to Cheltenham in the league on Saturday.
