Villa v Man Utd: Defence won't relish facing in-form Agbonlahor
Agbonlahor has shown signs that he is getting back to his best with goals in his last two Villa appearances.
And Lambert believes the Erdington-born forward can be "a handful" for the Red Devils rearguard because of his immense speed and strength.
"I think Gabby's speed is well documented by most people," said the Villa boss.
"People will look at his speed and think 'we need to watch it.'
"I think the way he's playing at this minute, he's an absolute handful because his speed is incredible.
"When he gets going it takes a really quick player to get a grasp of him. He has every attribute you want with his speed and his strength.
"I wouldn't like to race him, that's for sure. His actual game in general when he gets at people and is a handful. I'm delighted with the way he's performed.
"I think if he runs at people there are not many people who will catch him. His upper body strength is very powerful.
"He's in top form at the minute and enjoying where he's playing and is certainly doing something right."
Lambert believes the best is yet to come from Agbonlahor after the 26-year-old ended his top-flight scoring drought at Sunderland last weeked.
But the gaffer played down suggestions that the striker was suffering from a lack of confidence.
"You can hit your peak in your late 20s, so yes, his best years could be still to come," he added.
"He was playing exceptionally well in America in the summer and then he hurt his knee.
"I think when a new manager comes in everybody thinks it's a fresh start.
"Obviously we lost him for a bit but to be fair since he's come back in he's been excellent."
