Villa v Man Utd injury update: Bent, Bennett and Dunne struggling
Bent had a scan on the ankle injury that kept him out of last weekend's win at Sunderland and remains a doubt.
Bennett is likely to miss out after coming off with a knee problem during the victory at the Stadium of Light.
Meanwhile, Dunne resumed training last week following a long-term groin lay-off but has been dealt a setback.
However, it is not linked to the injury he picked up in pre-season and is not expected to keep him out for too long.
With Eric Lichaj suspended, Enda Stevens is likely to come in at left-back having made his first Barclays Premier League appearance against the Black Cats.
"There's still one or two knocks and it will pretty much the same squad that went up to Sunderland," said boss Paul Lambert.
"Joe Bennett is a doubt but we will have to see.
"Enda Stevens came in and did really fine against Sunderland.
"So credit to Enda for coming in a doing as well as he has done.
"Darren had a scan on Wednesday and it's still too early so we will have to go with that same squad of players.
"Darren's doing ok at the minute but we'll have to wait and see.
"Richard was back but then he got a little strain. It's not to do with his original groin injury.
"It's probably due to lack of training. It's nothing serious or untoward. Just a little thing."
Nathan Baker [ankle] and Charles N'Zogbia [knee] are still out of action.
