Villa v Man Utd: Agbonlahor following the lead of 'Mr 110%' Ron Saunders!
Gabby Agbonlahor believes sheer hard work is the key to getting a good result against Manchester United on Saturday.
Agbonlahor is a firm advocate of taking in the instructions of manager Paul Lambert pre-match and then simply giving it everything out on the pitch.
It's somewhat apt in a week when 'Mr 110%' Ron Saunders celebrated his 80th birthday that Villa's most senior player is calling for maximum effort from the lions.
He said: "We know it's going to be a really tough game.
"They're flying. They won again in midweek. We've just got to go into the game, work hard and see what happens.
"It will be tough but we are capable of getting results from these games.
"I've scored the winner against them before so we know they can be beaten. We'll just have to be at our best.
"From a personal perspective, I just need to keep doing what I've always been doing - that's working hard for the team and hopefully I'll get a few goals and keep myself in the side."
Agbonlahor netted his first league goal in just under a year against Sunderland on Saturday.
He wants to keep netting in coming matches but believes there's far more to his game than just scoring.
He added: "I don't let it play on my mind. People have said it was 28 games or something without a league goal but it's not all about that.
"I think if you're playing in a team when you're getting ten chances a game and you're not scoring then it's a different thing but it's not as if I'm missing loads of chances.
"For me it's about playing my game, listening to the tactics and instructions that I'm given and take it from there.
"I think if I was doing something wrong then I wouldn't be in the side. I'm just going to carry on playing as I am and if the goals come, the goals come.
"It's about my all round game but it is good to get the goal and if I can get a few more and a few more assists then I'll be happy."
Make sure you're here to roar on the lads against Manchester United.
