Sunderland v Villa: Agbonlahor admits Cuellar clash will be weird
Gabby Agbonlahor admits it will be "really weird" taking on Carlos Cuellar this Saturday.
Agbonlahor looks set to go head to head with Cuellar as Paul Lambert's Villa face Martin O'Neill's Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
It will be a reunion for the pair, who performed together in claret and blue for four years.
Agbonlahor and Cuellar were great pals at Bodymoor Heath and our star striker says he still keeps very much in touch with the star defender.
That's especially true this week, with messages flying to and from the north-east on a regular basis.
Agbonlahor told AVTV on the pre-match show: "It will be really, really weird to play against Carlos.
"He was with us here at Villa for a number of years so playing against him will be strange.
"I've swapped a few texts with him this week in the run-up to the game. There's been plenty of banter flying around between us.
"I'm looking forward to it. We know it's going to be a tough game. Whenever you go to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland you know it's going to be tough.
"But we go into that game with confidence after the Swindon win. We'll be aiming for three points. We'll be doing our best to get them.
"The likes of Carlos and Craig will be looking to prove people wrong. They'll be right up for the game but so will we.
"It's a big game for Martin too, taking on his former club but we'll be looking to get the result."
The clash with Sunderland is seen as the start of a tough pre-festive period.
While it looks that way on paper, Agbonlahor is keen for it to be a "November to remember."
He added: "People will say it's a tough November. But the Premier League is a division which can have upsets.
"We'll be heading into each game trying to do the right things and getting the right results."
