Swindon v Villa: Vlaar admits lifting cup would be a dream!
Ron Vlaar admits it would be a "dream" to lift the Capital One Cup as captain of Villa.
But the giant defender knows there's a long way to go before there's a chance of that becoming a reality.
Vlaar has already won a domestic trophy - the KNVB Cup with Feyenoord in 2008 - but he admits he didn't feel part of that successful squad because he was out injured at the time.
Concrete Ron is eager to taste the winning feeling at Wembley in claret and blue.
He's fully focused on the Robins tonight as Villa look to take another step towards the final showpiece.
He said: "I dream about lifting a trophy with Villa, of course.
"You want to win every game and cup games are something you look forward to.
"It's a long way off yet but to play at Wembley would be amazing.
"Swindon will be tough. I know Paolo Di Canio is manager of them and I remember him catching the ball in a Premier League game against Everton when the goalkeeper was injured. I saw that on TV!
"I have seen him as a manager on TV too and you can tell he is a passionate man.
"Inevitably that will be shown by his players on the pitch.
"They will be a team who will ready for the fight. They will be prepared to fight hard against us so we must be at the same level."
On his previous success in Holland, he added: "We won the cup but I was injured that year so I didn't play. It was a hard year for me but because I didn't recover at the club I wasn't there a lot.
"So when they won the trophy I was really happy and it felt good, although it was different for me."
