You would think they had just come out of journalism school as kids from JV-Life quizzed their heroes Shay Given, Fabian Delph and Andreas Weimann on a range of topics at the junior press conference.

The exciting event followed the FIAT-sponsored open training session and was attended by several young fans who were selected at random to be reporters for the afternoon.

There was a massive cheer when the players entered the venue - our 1874 Suite - but then silence descended as the budding scribes got ready for their testing teasers.

The questions were fantastic, with plenty of positive information coming out about the players that regular journalists would have proud to glean.

We found out that of the current squad Fabian Delph would select Stan Petrov if he had a Fantasy XI.

We discovered Shay Given would have been a barber if he hadn't been a footballer while Andreas Weimann told us that his all-time hero is Spain sensation Fernando Torres.

Given chose Shrek as his favourite kids film, insisting Donkey is a hilarious character, Delph said making his claret and blue debut against Wigan was an amazing experience despite the loss while Weimann told us he'd buy a big house to fit all his family in if he had all the money in the world!
