Open Training: Weimann says Lambert regime is "fun and focused"
![]()
Weimann was thrilled to work-out in front of our young lions at the FIAT-sponsored open training session. Paul Lambert swapped the open spaces of Bodymoor Heath for the historic confines of Villa Park. Weimann thinks the day will have been an invaluable experience for supporters as they see what's done by the team on a day-to-day basis. Weimann loves the fact that no session is the same, with the emphasis on fun and focus. He said: "Training is great for a professional footballer because we love to play. That will never leave anyone. "But the sessions at Villa at the moment are really great. It's always quick and sharp and fun. It's really enjoyable. "It tests us obviously and gets us improving and there's real focus about us out there and we're playing at our very best. "But it's great to be involved in too because it's fun. We love it. You see everyone smiling every day when we go out to train and after the session also because we've enjoyed it. "The training sessions are always different. We never seem to do the same thing every day. "There are similar things but it's never the same session. It's great that the coaches keep switching things."
