Delph: Midfield partner El Ahmadi's will to win is "frightening"
Delph says it's a pleasure to play alongside the former Feyenoord star, who's renowned for his silky-smooth skills in the middle of the park.
But Delph insists it's El Ahmadi's hunger that's impressed him most of all.
He said: "Karim is very experienced and he has been there and done it so it is very comfortable playing alongside him.
"He speaks a lot and he likes to shift the ball quickly and it is great to play with him.
"Also his enthusiasm to win is frightening. Everybody says they don't like losing but Karim actually hates losing and his mentality rubs off on the rest of us.
"His ability is there for all to see too. He's just got a great football brain. I think that is one of his main strengths.
"Coming from the league he has played in, it is a lot more technical over there and you can see that straight away.
"He is very comfortable on the ball and so far he has been unbelievable in possession and out of it too. I'm sure he will keep cracking on and improve each week."
Arsene Wenger once said it takes foreign players eighteen months to get fully-used to the Barclays Premier League.
Delph doesn't disagree but thinks El Ahmadi's been an exception to the rule.
He added: "Karim has adapted straight away. They say it takes months to adapt for the foreign players when they come over but that is not the case with him.
"He has just come in straight away and he is firing."
