Villa Noise: FIFA 13, Guzan's golf glee, Heskey in Oz and the Poznan
It was a remarkable win and one that will live long in the memory for everyone who was there or following on the live matchday console.
The console achieved its best figures for over a year as fans logged on to chat to Paul Brown and Dan Harrison about the game as it unfolded.
Jack Woodward provided excellent audio commentary for listeners but also drew some interesting glances from nearby City fans as he celebrated all four goals with relish.
Good to see several former players showing their delight after the game too!
There was a good media presence all-round from the Villa family at the Etihad Stadium.
As you can see in this picture which was tweeted pre-match, Free Radio's Tom Ross and Pat Heard were there, Ken McNaught for AVTV and Birmingham Mail's Mat Kendrick.
Click here for highlights of the game on AVTV.
Marc Albrighton's week did not start well but it got better!
First, he witnessed Eric Lichaj and Ciaran Clark attempting to carry a settee - blasting their sofa skills as the "biggest shambles I have ever seen".
Calling them the "Chuckle Brothers" was a tad harsh though!
Then, he travelled all the way to Sunderland for his comeback in the U21s at the Academy of Light.
It was called off because of horrendous weather conditions - and Marc wasn't impressed!
Marc's week soon got better, coming off the bench to help Villa to their remarkable 4-2 victory over Manchester City.
And to top it off, Gareth Barry handed him his shirt as a memento.
Villa's travelling fans are a passionate lot. But they can be funny too as they demonstrated in their antics at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City have taken to the exuberant Poznan Dance, made famous by supporters of Lech Poznan.
It consists of fans turning backwards and jumping up and down in the air.
And Villa supporters did their own version after our quartet of goals hit the back of the net!
Fair play to young fan Guy Walker, who took to Twitter to tell us about his school celebration after the Manchester City win.
One of his teachers is a City fan so Guy went into a lesson with his Villa top over his school shirt. He flashed the mighty claret and blue jersey just as the said scholar began taking the register! Fair play!
Nice to see Darren Bent taking to Twitter to thank the fans for their support at the Etihad Stadium, even though he didn't take part in the game.
Just goes to show the togetherness and spirit in the squad!
Brad Guzan was also talking up the merits of the Manchester City win the following morning as he took to the 10th tee at the world-famous Belfry for a golf challenge with a difference.
Guzan and Eric Lichaj agreed to a battle between USA and Europe on the same weekend as the Ryder Cup, which incidentally takes place in their home-city of Chicago.
Media men Brian Doogan and Jack Woodward represented Europe.
Guzan was the star player, making birdie to win the day for the Yanks!
Lichaj couldn't resist winding up Doogan and Woodward on Twitter that afternoon!
He also took to AVTV to call their performance "horrible!" Click here to watch the feature.
Lee Hendrie was also in fairway action, emerging victorious with his former boss Brian Little in the Villa Former Players golf day.
He too couldn't resist some Twitter action, uploading images of the winning duo!
Brad Guzan and Eric Lichaj looked the part at the Belfry for their golf challenge, emerging on the 10th tee with some fine shirts and slacks.
They will be well turned-out before and after matches too, as they spent the morning before their afternoon golfing trip trying on their new Paul Smith suits, as part of the partnership with our official formal wear supplier Harvey Nichols.
FIFA 13 is out today! And, as an added bonus, there's a specially-designed Villa sleeve for fans of a claret and blue persuasion.
Darren Bent was all-smiles when he got hold of the latest copy at Bodymoor Heath.

Ricky Edwards spoke for us all when he tweeted his delight that Stiliyan Petrov is in the squad on the EA SPORTS game, which is available on PS3 and Xbox.
It's the big Baggies battle this weekend and we had two special guests at Villa HQ to preview the game.
There was Tony Morley from the home side and Tony 'Bomber' Brown from the Baggies camp.
Jack Woodward was the host with the most on the pre-match show programme and the comments from the two legends make for interesting watching.

Neville Williams was on hand to snap away at the pair - and this photo was one of the ones that appeared in the picture library.
Click here to send us your captions.
In fact Neville's life behind the lens is chronicled nicely in a brilliant feature on AVTV. Click here to watch.
Fans are looking forward to the Albion game, no doubt. And Villa supporter Rachy Patrick has even created a special banner for the occasion. She's hoping the Baggies 'boing boing and then splat!'
Villa's matchday programme for the Baggies battle is now complete, with editor Rob Bishop sending the latest edition to print this afternoon after completing the final two pieces - the manager and captain column.
It was, of course, Ron Vlaar's first one since taking over as skipper and he's clearly the thinking man's footballer.
There were a flurry of emails between Rob and Ron about various alterations to the wording on the well-read page.
Ron said: "I want to sound confident but not arrogant Rob!" Clearly a man of real class!
The Villa News & Record will be available all-around the ground on Sunday for just £3. It also includes a giant team group poster.
There's a lot of work that goes into preparing for matchdays - and most of it isn't seen by supporters.
Caught up with the marketing team earlier as they prepared the giant flag for its journey across the Holte End on Sunday.
It's a laborious process to get it ready for action but it's a task that needs doing every Friday before home games.
One of the new things you'll see before the Baggies game is a set of four giant flags flying high around the perfect pitch.
Ball assistants will man all sides of the playing surface and wave them proudly to increase the matchday experience.
By the way, tickets are selling well for the derby encounter on Sunday. But you can still secure your seat. Click here for the very latest ticket news - including a plea from boss Paul Lambert.
One man who's scored in the Villa v West Brom derby is Emile Heskey, who left us this summer.
Heskey joined Newcastle Jets this week and his arrival in Australia has been national news down under.
Special 'Heskey 9' shirts have sold out and wallpapers of the powerful forward have appeared on countless laptops in the New South Wales area. Good luck to Big Emile!
There have been a few staff members humming a tune we downloaded on to our official YouTube channel this week.
'Oh to be a Villan' was sent into us by Villa fan Gary Nock. He wrote and sung it!
Gary had a hit with the original 'We can make it better', which was later adopted by Mars for their TV advertising campaign in 2011.
Gary re-wrote the song with lyrics about following the boys in claret and blue.
On his request, we have played it in the stadium before some home games.

Finally it was nice to see some banter on Twitter between a former manager and his players.
Before Robin van Persie stepped up to take what would prove to be the winning penalty in the Liverpool v Manchester United clash, Ian Taylor cheekily asked followers if they thought the former Arsenal man would chip his spot-kick.
It was a reference to his awfully-missed spot-kick against Southampton.
John Gregory joined the debate by hilariously telling Taylor: "Don't let Southgate take it!" Taylor definitely saw the funny side!
