Man City 2-4 Villa pictures: Gabby and Zoggy do the damage

It was a magical night for Villa in the Capital One Cup as they knocked out Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City with a stunning performance.

Paul Lambert's team won an epic third round encounter 4-2 to book a fourth round spot.

Club photographer Neville Williams was on hand to snap some fantastic images from the win at the Etihad Stadium.

Villa came from behind twice against Roberto Mancini's men before scoring two extra-time goals to emerge victorious.

The boys in claret and blue were unlucky to fall behind to Mario Balotelli's first-half strike after creating the better chances in the early stages.

But a second-half equaliser arrived courtesy of an own goal from former Villa man Gareth Barry.

City's lead was soon restored when Aleksandar Kolarov curled in a brilliant left-foot free-kick.

Then Gabby Agbonlahor turned on the style.

The speed demon played a delightful one-two with Christian Benteke before surging into the box to make it 2-2.

Agbonlahor was instrumental in the third goal which came in the first period of extra-time.

After his shot was parried, Charles N'Zogbia was on hand to convert from close range.

Just as the travelling Villa contingent thought things couldn't get any better, Agbonlahor fired home a fourth to cap a memorable night for Lambert's Lions.

Relive the sensational performance now with these images, which are housed in the matchday console.

The matchday console is perfect for pre-match information, live coverage through the game and post-match thoughts.

Now, after the game has finished, the all-new matchday console allows supporters to access match review stories and videos, the live text commentary which took place during the match as well as the tremendous picture gallery, which brings you brilliant shots of action throughout the game.

The new console means after reading the best big match build-up and following all the action live, you can log on and read the official match report, the manager's verdict and watch post-match interviews with the headline makers on AVTV too.

The content will then be archived, allowing you to look back at all the relevant stories, pictures and videos from all the matches during the 2012-13 season.
