Villa 2-0 Swansea reaction: Holman says reception gave him goosebumps
Brett Holman admits he had goosebumps after receiving a standing ovation on his exit from action against Swansea.
Holman says it was "a real rush" to see the fans stand in unison and clap to congratulate him on his performance, after coming off with ten minutes.to go.
Aussie ace Holman believes the only reason he's out there is to bring joy to the fans who come and watch their religiously week-in and week-out.
He says the Swansea win was vital after the frustration of the home loss to Everton.
He said: "The ovation I received was great. When the fans clap - particularly when you play for the fans - it gives you a rush and goosebumps. That was really fantastic.
"You're there for the fans. You want to do your best and produce your best and hopefully I can do that every week.
"These fans - after the first home game - we needed to get them on our side. That's the most important thing - it's vital.
"After the first defeat at Villa Park you want to turn it around and we did that. The fans got right behind us and that gave us energy too.
"I was away for ten days with Australia. I was a little bit jet-lagged, a little bit tired but to get the reception we got before the game and during the game, it gets you going again.
"It gives you that extra step. I certainly felt it."
