Villa 2-0 Swansea gaffer verdict: Lambert hails "unplayable" Benteke
Paul Lambert hailed Christian Benteke as "unplayable" as Villa ran out deserving winners over Swansea.
Lambert was thrilled with the impact of his super sub, as the giant frontman destroyed the Swans defence in a 20-minute cameo display, which heralded his first goal in claret and blue.
Lambert was also thrilled with Brad Guzan's amazing first-half save from Nathan Dyer and Matt Lowton's "world-class opener" which gave Villa breathing space at the break.
He also lauded Brett Holman as an action man, joking the Aussie ace would need "another lung" after his tireless display.
He said: "I thought Christian was unplayable, he was an absolute threat.
"The great thing is he's only 21, only a kid and still learning.
"He had a really good game for the national team, if you're holding your own in that company you're doing alright.
"Everything is a culture shock for him at the minute but he was excellent.
"The goal will give him confidence. The crowd will go with him. You heard the crowd's reaction when he came on.
"Even Ashley, when he came on, he's come in from League One but you wouldn't think it!
"I am delighted with the boys who have been here and those who have integrated here too.
"I thought they were all excellent, right from the off, we thoroughly deserved it, against a really good side which has been flying. I thought we were well-worthy of it.
"It was a world-class goal from Matty - the technique and execution was fantastic.
"Brad's save was world-class again, that was terrific. The tempo and the way we played were excellent.
"I have nothing but praise for the lads. We have a lot of tired legs because we had a lot of lads on international duty. It was a big, big effort.
"Brett needed another lung the way he was performing. He was exceptional, considering he's been away with the national team. The travelling Australia have to do is ridiculous. His effort was exceptional."
Lambert called the win "mammoth" and also praised the noise generated from B6.
He added: "The win is mammoth! The fans were brilliant. You can't hear yourself shout when they get going. You need that. They will be more than happy."
