Stevens: I want to give Lambert a huge headache
![]()
Enda Stevens plans on giving manager Paul Lambert a huge headache! It has been strongly suggested in the press that Lambert is in the market for a left-back in this transfer window as he looks to bolster his squad for the top-flight campaign ahead. But Stevens is keen to show Lambert that he can be a shining light in that position in the coming weeks, months and years ahead. Stevens made his first competitive start for Villa in their 3-0 Capital One Cup second round win over Tranmere Rovers. And the likeable Irish ace is hoping for more appearances in claret and blue as the season progresses. He told AVTV: "It was a long wait but I was just happy to play. "Obviously I got my chance and showed what I could do. "There were no nerves really, perhaps a little walking out, but once you get your first touch you settle and it's fine. "I am going to keep pushing and keep training the way I have been training and hopefully my chance comes again. "I am going to keep giving the gaffer a headache to pick me. "I feel I have settled in well, training week-in and week-out with the first team. I was just waiting for my chance and finally it came. Hopefully it's the first of many."
