Ron Vlaar put pen to paper on his move to Villa and then set off on a flurry of media activity.

Vlaar walked out of the secretary's office and immediately made his way into the media room at Bodymoor Heath for his exclusive AVTV interview.

As always with a new signing, the club's in-house television crew were first on the scene.

After words, it was the turn of pictures as Neville Williams took the former Feyenoord man to one side for a photo session.

After several initial shots of Vlaar answering questions in his interview, Williams continued with images of Vlaar holding up the famous Villa shirt in the players' lounge.

Then it was outside for more arty pictures, with Vlaar posing with the shirt alongside the backdrop of the training field goals.

It will be out on those very training fields that Vlaar will look to impress Paul Lambert and cement his place in the manager's exciting first XI.
