USA Tour: Dunne confident Lambert can reinvigorate Villa
![]()
Richard Dunne believes Paul Lambert is the man to reinvigorate Villa by building up the belief and confidence of his players. Dunne returned to the claret and blue fold on Monday as Villa jetted out to USA for the tour of Philadelphia, Chicago and Portland. And the Irish international wasted no time in espousing the qualities of boss Lambert. He said: "We still have a lot of good players at the club but we're probably gone through a bit of a transitional stage where we have had quite a few managers and a turnover of players. "Hopefully now the new manager has come in we can get back on the right road. "I don't think we're a million miles away. It's about getting the attitude right, getting our belief right and building our confidence." Dunne admits he's thrilled to be back among the fold and delighted to be touring USA, even if the training has been tough because of the conditions. He added: "All the lads are happy to be here. America is a good place to come and the standard of the league has improved over the last few years. "It should be a good test for us to see where we are in terms of our own fitness and our own level and good preparation for the season ahead. "It was tough training on the opening morning and I think a few of the lads struggled to sleep aswell. They were up early to go out. "It's energy sapping straight away. It's tough your first day back at the best of times but in that heat it's doubly difficult." Full guide to Villa's USA tour 2012 - click here.
