Lambert spoke to the in-house TV channel after seeing his side defeat the League Two outfit in his first match at the helm.

He expressed his delight at getting a win under his belt as well as the chance to run the rule over the squad for the first time.

The Scotsman also praised the performances of new signings Matthew Lowton, Karim El Ahmadi and match-winner Brett Holman.

Goalkeeper Marshall played 90 minutes in a senior Villa match for the first time.

The veteran custodian said he was pleased to get a run-out against the Brewers.

He assessed the performance and spoke of the excitement in the claret and blue camp surrounding the new regime.

The interviews with Marshall and Lambert are available to view now on AVTV.
