The 23-year-old defender became the club's third summer signing, following on from the captures of Moroccan international Karim El Ahmadi and Australian ace Brett Holman. And Lowton was full of joy as he posed for photographs shortly after sealing his move from Sheffield United. Club photographer Neville Williams was first on the scene to snap Villa's new signing. After finalising terms, completing a medical and taking a tour of the club's impressive training headquarters, Lowton posed for photographs before facing the AVTV cameras for his first interview as a Villa player. He revealed his excitement about joining the club and set out his aims for the future. Lowton was an ever-present for the Blades last season, featuring 52 times in all competitions as they narrowly missed on promotion from League One. He broke into the Sheffield Untied team in 2010-11 having had impressive loan spells at non-league Sheffield FC and Hungarian side Ferencvaros. Now the talented defender is hoping to make his mark on the top-flight stage after swapping Bramall Lane for Villa Park. Click here to see a picture gallery of Lowton at Bodymoor Heath. |
