Lowton spells out excitement at Villa move in AVTV exclusive

Lowton became the club's third summer signing when he completed his switch from Bramall Lane on Friday. The 23-year-old defender admitted he can't wait to realise a "childhood dream" of playing in the top-flight. Lowton, who was an ever-present for the Blades in League One last season, put pen-to-paper with Villa after agreeing terms and passing a medical. And the right-back said he can't wait to get started after being impressed by the magnitude of the club, its fan base and its facilities. In his first interview as a Villa player, he also talked about the buzz around Bodymoor Heath following the arrival of Lambert and fellow new signings Brett Holman and Karim El Ahmadi. Lowton discussed the grounding he received at Sheffield United's renowned academy as well as his experience on loan at Hungarian side Ferencvaros.
