The sun beat down at Bodymoor Heath as the first team squad returned for the first day of the Paul Lambert regime. Holman was in the thick of the action on his debut at Bodymoor Heath as the lads took part in fitness and football work under the expert eye of Lambert. Lambert was joined by trusted aides Ian Culverhouse and Gary Karsa and they watched on as the likes of Holman got back into the swing of things after the summer break. It was Lambert's first opportunity to see Holman up close as the midfield ace was signed before the gaffer's appointment as boss. Despite this, Lambert admitted he was looking forward to working with the former AZ Alkmaar star. He told AVTV: "I have come in at a time when he's probably feeling a little bit of trepidation, thinking this is a different manager from the one who signed me. "I have watched little clips of him in action and he's a good footballer. Hopefully he does well here and we get the best out of him and he adds value to the team. "He's a new player and with that, as always, he will bring fresh impetus. I am looking forward to seeing him play." Click here to check out the picture gallery of Holman. |
