Pictures/Video: Kids overwhelmed as Bent attends Villa soccer school
The cries were incessant.
Darren Bent had arrived at Villa's soccer school in Kings Norton to meet with the claret and blue youngsters enrolled on our fun training course.
And the youngsters were overwhelmed to see Villa's record-signing on hand to greet them.
The chants went up almost from the first moment the session began as they serenaded the England international striker.
Bent took time out to head off to one of the many football development courses held in this half-term week.
He joined experienced coaches like Natalie Gibson in checking out the skills of the wannabees and instructing them through the exciting session, which had its usual focus on fun.
The 28-year-old also took part in a Q&A with the children as they quizzed him about his career, his favourite goals, his hobbies, his best game and his international highlights.
Asked what club he'd love to play for, he stared intently before answering: "Villa, of course!"
After the quality quiz, Bent signed a host of autographs from his new adoring public before taking part in media duties about the day, including interviews with AVTV and the Birmingham Mail.
He then posed for pictures with the kids, with smiles all-round.
What a day for the kids - and Benty clearly enjoyed it too!
