Albrighton: More of the same against Arsenal but with right result

By Paul Brown

Marc Albrighton wants more of the same against Arsenal - but this time with the right result.

Albrighton has fond memories of taking on the Gunners earlier this season after scoring the Barclays Premier League's 20,000th goal and helping the team regain their pride with a good performance after a series of lacklustre ones.

But he says that delight was seriously subdued because of the 2-1 defeat on the night.

The winger now hopes to set the record straight with a win in the FA Cup tie at the Emirates on Sunday.

He said: "I can't wait for the game. We did well against Arsenal a couple of months ago and hopefully we can take that performance and get the right result.

"We had a few games before that - Manchester United and Liverpool in particular - where we knew we hadn't performed well.

"A lot of the fans were questioning our passion and commitment but I think we answered those critics against Arsenal and did really well.

"We felt hard done-by, definitely. Arsene Wenger even said that he felt his side were slightly lucky to come away with three points.

"So it could be classed as a revenge mission on Sunday. We will go down there full of confidence from the weekend and hopefully do the business.

"The game at Villa Park was a memorable occasion for me as everyone knows, having scored that landmark goal.

"I am looking forward to this one on a personal level too and hopefully I can keep up my good form and do well against them."

Albrighton is definitely feeling FA Cup fever as the Arsenal game approaches.

He is obviously focusing on this game alone but would also love a run to the latter stages of the competition if the home side can be gunned down on Sunday.

He added: "It's massive. The fans, the players, in fact everyone connected with this football club wants silverware.

"If we can have a good run in the FA Cup and get to Wembley it would be a great day out for the fans and hopefully we can go all the way.

"But, at the moment, we're just concentrating on this game."
