Shane Lowry has joined Millwall on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Lowry has impressed Lions boss Kenny Jackett since joining the Championship club on loan in November.

He moved to Millwall on a temporary basis until the start of January but the stay was extended until the end of the month.

But now, Lowry has now made the switch to the New Den permanent after a deal was agreed with Millwall until June 2014.

Lowry made two competitive games for Villa, both against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League in August 2009.
