Ireland and Heskey set for return to full training on Friday

Stephen Ireland and Emile Heskey look set for a return to full training on Friday after stepping up their fitness bids. Ireland [hamstring] and Heskey [achilles] did light work with fitness coach Adrian Lamb this morning and are due to rejoin the full squad before the weekend. Both should be in contention for the Arsenal FA Cup clash on Sunday. Alex McLeish is playing down the prospect of winger Charles N'Zogbia being ready for the fourth round encounter as he waits for the report of a heel specialist. Meanwhile, the manager revealed Gabby Agbonlahor has trained over the last two days and has looked sharp. He said: "Gabby has been out there and is fully over the stomach bug that he had, thankfully. "He trained well. He looked good and he looked strong again. "Stevie and Emile trained separately with Adrian, the fitness coach, and they both came through that well. "They will both join up with the full squad on Friday and Saturday in preparation for Arsenal. "Charles is more of a concern. He has had a heel problem for the last couple of weeks. "We thought resting it for three days last week might cure it. Thursday it was not too bad but on Friday he said it was restricting his running movement. "He's seeing a specialist and hopefully the news is not too bad and after a few days rest he can be available again for us, maybe not this weekend." Click here for QPR tickets.
