Match report: Ipswich U18s 1-0 Villa U18s

Villa suffered a single goal defeat after being undone by an Ipswich free-kick. The Young Lions had goalkeeper Calum Barrett to thank after he made a string of saves to keep them in contention. However, coach McAndrew was disappointed with the overall display and has demanded a big improvement. "We didn't deserve anything from the game," he said. "We didn't work hard enough and didn't try and play the way we have been working all week to play. It was very disappointing. "Calum Barrett had a good game and made three or four really good saves but it was a poor performance. "It was poor defending to start with. We gave away a free-kick and the ball went through the wall. "The two men in the wall have turned their back and if they face up one of them heads it away. "So I am a bit disappointed but we will pick ourselves up and go again." Villa's U18s are back in action on Saturday with a tricky away trip against Charlton Athletic. Keywords
