The club can confirm that Jean II Makoun has joined Greek champions Olympiakos on a season-long loan, subject to FIFA approval.

The Cameroon international midfield player joined Villa in January from Lyon.

He is contracted to the club until 2014.

The loan deal is expected to be ratified by FIFA tomorrow and Makoun will be eligible to compete for Olympiakos in Champions League Group F against Arsenal, Marseilles and Borussia Dortmund.
