Gabby Agbonlahor has revealed his delight at John Carew's return to action - and return to top form.

Agbonlahor insists Carew's presence and goal threat was missed during his three month injury absence.

And now the star striker is impressed with the wealth of quality among Villa's forward line.

He told AVTV: "We missed John. I know we were getting good results during that period but we definitely missed him.

"For him to come back now is a great boost to all the lads. He's hit top form very quickly and his goal tally in that period has been terrific.

"He has got into double figures in the league now, which is great.

"Emile is a proven international and a tremendous forward and I have been impressed with Nathan too.

"When you see the lads train, he's still one of the youngest out there. I think he has a bright future ahead of him."
