Striker's Boost

DelfounesoNathan Delfouneso believes his experience with England under-19s will boost his development as a player.

The Villa striker put in a lively performance in England's 0-0 friendly draw with Czech Republic in Walsall last night.

The encounter was a warm-up for May's Elite Qualifying Round, when Brian Eastick's side will be looking to qualify for the European Finals.

They must finish top of a group which also contains Scotland, Slovakia and Bosnia to reach the finals in July.

Delfouneso says the experience of international football is playing a big part in his education.

"It's important to play against players at this level and it's good to go and test yourself on a personal level," he said.

"These games help your development as a player. Obviously international football is a bit different to club football.

"You are playing against different cultures and different types of footballers, so it's all part of your education."
