England's Finest?
![]()
England's official website, www.thefa.com, are running their annual poll to find out who fans think has been the biggest star in their country's colours. Barry was the only outfield player to play in all 10 of England's matches during the year. He scored against Trinidad & Tobago before later taking the armband in the second-half. As well as Villa's central star, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young are also in the hat for the prestigious vote. Agbonlahor made the step up from the under-21s in the final game of 2008 as he started up front against Germany in Berlin while Young appeared from the bench against Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago and Germany. You have until midnight on Saturday January 31 to get your votes in and everyone who chooses the eventual winner will go into a hat to win a special prize. This includes the chance to be at England's first home World Cup qualifier of 2009 with hospitality and a limited edition matchball from England's 5-1 victory over Kazakhstan. Previous winners include David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Owen Hargreaves and Steven Gerrard. Click here to vote. |
