Martin O'Neill has mixed team news ahead of the game against Bolton tomorrow.

He revealed that James Milner is a major doubt through illness while Craig Gardner, Moustapha Salifou and Nicky Shorey have all now recovered from their bout of flu.

He said: "James has been poorly. He came in today but he didn't train and he is a major doubt. We shall see how he is tomorrow.

"There's better news on Craig and Moustapha. They missed a day or two with the flu but both trained this morning.

"Nicky is much better. He has trained for the past few days."

On the subject of John Carew's ongoing back injury, he added: "John's situation is as the specialist diagnosed. I will treat it as a major bonus if he was back for the festive period."
