Craig Gardner netted a low free-kick for England under-21s as they saw off the challenge of the Czech Republic in an international friendly.

The Villa midfielder struck early in the second half, adding a second for the Three Lions after Tottenham's Fraizer Campbell had opened the scoring with a deft chip in the 10th minute.

Stuart Pearce's young charges played some vibrant football as they prepared for the Euro Championships, which take place in Sweden in 2009.

Meanwhile, Nathan Baker played 90 minutes as England under-19s defeated Germany 1-0 in another international friendly.

And Nathan Delfouneso starred in the second half, after replacing Manchester United's Danny Welbeck at the break.
