The 21-year-old midfielder follows John Carew, Gabby Agbonlahor and Wilfred Bouma as current claret and blue stars to commit themselves to the club. And, just prior to flying off to Bulgaria, Gardner spoke to AVTV Online about his optimism about four more years at the club he loves. He said: "I am ecstatic - really buzzing. It is fantastic to sign for another four years. "Sometimes I have to pinch myself - coming through the academy ranks and playing for the club I support. It's a fantastic place to be and the team, including both players and staff, get on so well as a unit. "It is a great atmosphere and at the moment we are getting some great results. I think the sky's the limit here. "I love playing for Villa - whether it be from the start or coming off the bench. You know what you're going to get from me and that's nothing less than 100 per cent."
