NRC: Get Over It

NRCNigel Reo-Coker has urged his team mates to heed the lessons of Saturday's last-gasp defeat at Stoke City and quickly 'Get over it!'

Villa return to action tonight when Icelandic side FH Hafnarfjordur are the UEFA Cup visitors and the aim is to rubber-stamp a place in tomorrow's first round draw.

Leading 4-1 from the first-leg in Reykjavík two weeks ago, Villa are strong favourites to progress and Reo-Coker is hoping for a professional job as Martin O'Neill men bid to bounce back from the Stoke defeat.

The midfielder told www.avfc.co.uk: "If you're in Europe the games come thick and fast so we haven't got time to dwell on Saturday's defeat at Stoke.

"Hopefully we'll learn from the mistakes we made on Saturday and now we're positive for tonight's match.

"That's a great thing. The more games you play, the better it is for a player. You don't have time to dwell on losing a game.

"There's no point crying over spilled milk. We have to be men about this and learn from Saturday. But we have to move on. Every game you play in you should be learning.

"This is European football - it's the next level up. The UEFA Cup is one step away from playing in the Champions League and that's a fantastic challenge.

"So we just have to keep pushing ourselves. We have to continue to motivate ourselves and keep learning. You learn at the domestic level and then you learn at the European level. They're two different styles of football."

He continued: "The games are coming thick and fast. That's what the fans wanted and it's what we wanted.

"European football is a more patient game and not as fast as the Premier League. So the demands are different. But we're looking to do well in every competition we take part in.

"This is another game and tonight starts at 0-0. So the challenge is to win again. That's all that matters and we won't be looking at the aggregate score or anything like that.

"We're not going to sit back and think we can take it easy at 4-1 up. We want to win the game to give us the right sort of momentum going into a massive domestic game against Liverpool."
